Ride Types

VIEW RIDE CALENDAR
Road
Ridden on roads and paved trails. Any style of bike is appropriate.

Trail
Can range from gentle multi-use trail to aggressive single track.  Hybrid, cyclocross and mountain bikes are recommended.For trails that are more aggressive, mountain bikes with suspension are recommended.

Social
Ridden on both trail and road. Typically is a slower paced ride that stays together and involves a destination. Bike style vary as to surface conditions.

Invitationals
Organized club rides where all level of riders can participate. Usually have a variety of routes, sorted by mileage. They have rest stops with food and drink, first aid and mechanical support. Any style of bike is appropriate.

*BCLC requires that helmets are worn for ALL rides.

RIDE LEVELAVERAGE PACEDESCRIPTION
A19 - 25 + mphRide is competitive. Riders must have the ability to ride in close quarters and pacelines. Stopping and regrouping is infrequent. Riders who cannot keep up or have mechanical problems may be dropped. Regroup at discretion of ride leader.
B15 - 20 + mphFit to strong riders. Moderate to fast paced ride. Depending on distance there will usually be at least one rest stop. Riders who cannot keep up or have a mechanical problem may be dropped. Regroup at discretion of ride leader.
C12 - 16 + mphModerately paced ride. Depending on distance there will usually be multiple stops. The group will stop for mechanical problems and regroup as often as necessary so no one is left behind. This is a no-drop ride.
SocialVariableRide usually breaks into groups of different abilities and regroups or meets up at a destination. Bike styles vary.
